GLENDALE, Ariz. — Phoenix Children's Hospital and West Valley emergency crews ran a major emergency preparedness exercise on Wednesday.
The hospital at the Arrowhead Campus was host to the exercise, but it was still fully open, running business as usual.
And it wasn’t just healthcare workers practicing their skills.
Glendale, Avondale and Goodyear emergency management crews were there, along with a SWAT team acting out what to do during an active shooter situation.
The drills test each agency’s response time and resources.
Doctor Paula McPhail helped oversee the five-hour drill.
