GRAND BLANC, MI – As the six-year-old who sustained a gunshot wound in the Michigan church shooting walked into the emergency room, he didn’t shed a tear.

Dr. Sanford Ross, an attending emergency physician and assistant director of Henry Ford Genesys’ emergency department, said the young child was stoic as he walked into the emergency department on Sunday, Sept. 28.

“His mom was a wreck, which as a parent I completely understand,” Ross said.

Ross inspected the wound and reassured both the child and his mother that “you’re going to get through this. You’ll be OK.”

“I’m just amazed. I know there was shock in the patient but there was not one tear.”
