MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The Memphis Safe Task Force arrested 53 individuals and seized 20 illegal firearms, U.S. Attorney General Pamela Bondi announced on Wednesday.

This comes after Bondi said on X Tuesday morning , nine arrests were made and two illegal firearms were taken off the streets within the first day of the Memphis Safe Task Force operation.

Bondi also announced on Wednesday that on Tuesday, a missing juvenile was found and three firearms were recovered at the home of a murder suspect.

Twelve federal agencies began showing up in the Bluff City on Monday and Tuesday , but the National Guard has not yet arrived, according to Mayor Young.

Bondi and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth say they will travel to Memphis on Wednesday to meet with federal, state and local law enforcement
