BYRAM — Nearly a year after the fatal shooting of Gary Lennard Henderson Jr. at a Byram apartment complex, police say the case remains unsolved and are urging the public to come forward with information.

Officers responded to The Reserve of Byram Apartments at 350 Byram Drive around 12:05 p.m. Oct. 5, 2024. When they arrived, they found Henderson, 26, lying unresponsive near a patio door inside his residence with multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Byram Police Department.

Family members told investigators Henderson had recently returned home from the Mississippi State Fair before the incident occurred. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
