A new tropical wave will need to be watched as it moves off the coast of Africa this week. Slow development is possible with this wave over the weekend and into next week. It is a long way away from being a threat to the US.
Imelda will continue to impact Bermuda through Thursday. Winds are sustained at 100 mph as it moves east-northeast at 24 mph. It is expected to lose its tropical characteristics by the weekend, but remain a very strong low-pressure system as it moves into the North Atlantic.
