GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - In a visit to ECU on Wednesday, State Auditor Dave Boliek spoke to students about his role as auditor and what efforts his office has taken in addressing financial corruption across the state.
Boliek also oversees the State Board of Elections in his role as auditor and recently appointed Dallas Woodhouse, a former director of the North Carolina Republican Party to lead election integrity efforts as the election board liaison.
Woodhouse resigned from his role with the GOP in 2019, at a time when GOP Chairman Robin Hayes was arrested in a federal bribery case.
Boliek’s appointment of Woodhouse has sparked controversy, but the state auditor says he feels confident in his choice.
