The owners of a popular restaurant on the Northshore are counting their blessings, after an overnight fire at their establishment threatened their livelihood.

Duffel Ramirez, the owner of Palmettos on the Bayou in Slidell said, "It's really scary. I'm always worried about worse scenario ... tornados, hurricanes. But a fire is the scariest thing at a restaurant or anywhere."
Video from the restaurant showed the moments a small flame sparked into a potentially life-threatening situation.
Ramirez said, thankfully, a passerby noticed it.
