DAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (WFIE) - A retired Daviess County deputy has died at age 65.
Officials with the Daviess County Detention Center posted the news earlier today of Deputy Kenneth “Wayne” Burns’ passing on Tuesday, September 30.
According to his obituary, Deputy Burns served as a military police officer in the United States Army, then later worked over 22 years at the Daviess County Detention Center.
After retiring, he worked in security at the Owensboro Community & Technical College.
They say Deputy Burns was a humble and honorable man who was well-respected by staff, inmates and the community.
Funeral arrangements will be on Monday, October 6 at Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home with visitation from noon until service time at 5:00 PM.
