CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A shooting in midtown Charlotte Wednesday has left a person with life-threatening injuries.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say the shooting occurred just after 8 pm. in the 900 block of Metropolitan Avenue, near Target. Officers located a victim with gunshot wounds who was transported to a local hospital.

CMPD is investigating the shooting as an assault with a deadly weapon. No suspects have been named at this time,
