CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - One person was killed Wednesday night and after being shot near a popular shopping center close to Uptown Charlotte, according to police.
Charlotte police said on Wednesday, Oct. 1, just before 8 p.m., officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call on Metropolitan Avenue near South Kings Drive.
Officers said when they arrived, they found one person who was suffering from a gunshot wound.
They were transferred to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police said around 10:30 p.m. the victim died from their injuries.
Details on what led up to the shooting were not given at the time of this writing.
