An attack in which four people have been injured with both stabbing and vehicle wounds outside a synagogue in North Manchester happened on the holiest day in the Jewish calendar, Yom Kippur.

Police were called to Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue, on Middleton Road in Crumpsall at 9.31am on Thursday morning after a member of the public witnessed a car being driven towards members of the public and one man had been stabbed.

According to Greater Manchester Police , a security guard was stabbed outside the synagogue while three other people were injured in the incident, either by the car driven at people or by the stabbing.
