The Moreno Valley Wind Symphony will present “Shall We Dance,” a concert of music inspired by dance, 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at the Moreno Valley Conference Center, 14075 Frederick St.
Admission is free.
Paul Bluto conducts the ensemble in the concert that opens with “Jungle Dance” by Brian Balmages, a musical celebration of the strength and energy of all the life in a jungle.
Also on the program are “Renaissance Dance Fever” by Kenneth Singleton, a collection of Renaissance music assembled for the modern concert band; and Waltz No. 2 by Dimitri Shostakovich, adapted for concert band from the original score for symphony orchestra.
The first half of the concert concludes with clarinetist Michael Morales soloing in Artie Shaw’s Concerto for Clarinet.
