STONY POINT, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- An Alexander County man was arrested after being accused of setting fire to two buildings Thursday morning.
According to the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office, there was a report of a fire at 8 a.m. in the 600 block of Ruritan Park Road, off N.C. 90 in Stony Point. Due to evidence suggesting the fire had been intentionally set, the Alexander County Fire Marshal called upon the sheriff’s office.
As a result of the investigation, 64-year-old David Lynn Earp was arrested and taken into custody. Earp was charged with: • Two counts of Felony Burning of an Unoccupied Commercial Building • One count of Damage to Real Property • Two counts of Second-Degree Trespassing • One count of Simple Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance • One cou
