LINCON COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A man is accused of a string of armed robberies at several stores in both Lincoln and Cleveland County, deputies say.

On Sept. 21, the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to reports of an armed robbery at a Family Dollar on 4709 E. NC 27. Deputies say the suspect entered the store with a handgun, made the two clerks empty the registers into a plastic bag before fleeing.

Investigators determined that the suspect's vehicle was a small, white SUV.

Nine days later, the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office was called to an attempted armed robbery at a Dollar General, followed by an armed robbery at a One Stop Sunset Food Store.

Witnesses say that a white sport utility vehicle fled the scene.
