YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) -- An injured York County lieutenant who remains in the hospital has cleared a major milestone.

Lt. David Godfrey with the York County Sheriff's Office was shot on Sept. 17 in an ambush at a North Codorus Township property that killed three Northern York County Regional Police Department detectives. Another officer was injured, and he has since been released from the hospital.

Godfrey has continued to receive treatment at WellSpan York Hospital's intensive care unit.
