TOLEDO, Ohio — The deadline has passed for the owners of Riverside Mobile Home Park to fix the condemned south Toledo property, and with demolition plans moving forward, the owners are now trying to sell.

The park, located just off the Anthony Wayne Trail near the I-75 overpass, was condemned by the city on May 22 and declared “unfit for human habitation.” Residents were originally ordered to move out by June 22, but the deadline was extended to Sept. 22. Despite the extra time, the site was never brought into compliance.

On Sept. 9, Toledo City Council approved moving ahead with demolition. According to the city’s bidding website, leaders are seeking contractors to tear down 39 trailers, garage space and an office building. Bidding closes Oct. 7.
