SAN FRANCISCO — Nearly 100,000 Evermore Surprise Eggs sold at gas station convenience stores across the country are being recalled due to the toy inside having too much lead in it.
The recall impacts roughly 98,350 eggs in yellow, pink or green colored wrapper, according to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission.
While no injuries have been reported, lead exposure, even at low levels, can increase blood lead levels and potentially affect learning, development, and cause long-term health problems in children, particularly with prolonged exposure, according to the FDA. The effects depend on exposure amount, duration, and the child's age and body weight.
The toys were sold at 7-Eleven, Horizon, Speedway and Murphy from March 2025 through April 2025 for about $10.
