NORFOLK, Va. — A teenager has life-threatening injuries after being struck by gunfire on I-64 West in Norfolk. All of the westbound lanes are shut down as of 11:30 p.m. Thursday.
State police said a silver SUV had run off the road at the I-64 westbound exit onto North Military Highway, at Exit 281. Before that, it had been shot at by what state police called "an unknown vehicle."
State police said the person in the left-rear passenger seat, a teenager, was hit by the gunfire and was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Five people total were in the SUV, all of them being teenagers, state police said.
The incident is still under investigation, but police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or anyone who may have information, should contact state police
