A yellow weather warning for rain and wind is in place across Glasgow and the surrounding areas from today as Storm Amy is set to batter the country.

With the storm set to make landfall and batter Glasgow city this evening (Friday, October 3), warnings have been issued to travellers and residents as disruption is to be expected.

The Met Office has issued the city, as well as much of the country, a yellow weather warning for rain which will be in place from 12pm today. An alert for wind will come into effect at 3pm (October 3) until 11.59pm on Saturday (October 4), with heavy showers set to last until 3pm on Saturday.
