The Met Office has set out an amber weather warning for the north west of Scotland as Storm Amy sweeps the country with damaging winds and downpours this weekend.
In addition to a yellow warning to start at 3pm on Friday, October 3, that will hit the entirety of Scotland and northern England, this latest warning will take over as a more severe amber from 5pm tomorrow until around 9am on Saturday morning.
This extreme weather is expected to threaten parts of Scotland with "heavy rain and strong winds" as Storm Amy approaches the country. These gusty conditions are expected to reach as high as 60 to 70mph, with more exposed areas may see speeds exceeding 95pmph.
