STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Police are investigating a series of robberies that occurred across Staten Island during the week of Sept. 22 to 28, including one incident that led to an arrest at a department store in Mariners Harbor.
According to the NYPD, the first incident, an open area unclassified robbery, was reported on Sept. 23 at 1 p.m. near Seaver Avenue and Jefferson Street in Dongan Hills.
Later that same day, at 6:01 p.m., a robbery occurred inside the Kohl’s department store at 2239 Forest Ave. in Mariners Harbor.
Police said a man entered the store and removed two high-end fragrances valued at $300. When a 19-year-old employee attempted to stop him, the suspect allegedly brandished a pair of pliers and fled the scene, according to police. No injuries were reported.
