KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The misdemeanor trespassing charges against Yassin’s Falafel House owner Yassin Terou and other protesters who were arrested in a group on the University of Tennessee's campus in 2024 have been dropped.

On Friday, the Knox County District Attorney General's office confirmed to 6 News that the charges against the group were dismissed upon the group's collective completion of 100 hours of community service.

Terou made a statement on social media, calling on the University of Tennessee to remove the group members' names from a trespassing list and to allow the group to rejoin the Volunteer community.
