RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Ohio (WJW) -- Richmond Heights police came to the rescue of a local rodent that had gotten itself into a sticky situation Thursday evening.

"Not every call we answer is serious — but every call matters," the department wrote on its Facebook page along with a video showing a squirrel that was knotted up in some sort of sports netting in what appeared to be a resident's backyard.

The video shows Richmond Heights Officer Pawlak calmly and coolly snipping parts of the net to get the furry animal free.

"Once loose, he didn’t stick around for an interview — he bolted straight back to the trees, tail high and freedom restored," the police department wrote in the caption.

The department said they were glad to serve no matter how small of a rescue.
