FITCHBURG, Mass. —
The Goodrich Academy entered a shelter-in-place Friday afternoon following an ongoing "incident" in the area, according to Fitchburg Public Schools officials.
Details of the incident were not immediately available. NewsCenter 5 has reached out to district officials and the Fitchburg Police Department for more information.
The school entered the shelter-in-place protocol around 12:15 p.m.
A district spokesperson said the Goodrich Academy has since ended the shelter-in-place protocol and students were dismissed at 1 p.m.
Students can be picked up at the corner of Boutelle Street and Goodrich Street, according to officials.
