CLEMSON — One of the Clemson University professors fired last month for comments he reposted on Facebook following the killing of Charlie Kirk is suing the university’s board, provost and president, arguing that his termination violated the First Amendment.

The Oct. 3 lawsuit from Joshua Bregy, who until Sept. 15 was an assistant professor in Clemson’s Department of Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences, asked a federal judge to reinstate his employment and award damages and back pay.
