CLEMSON, S.C. —
The American Civil Liberties Union of South Carolina has announced that it is suing Clemson University over the decision to fire an employee for sharing another person's social media about Charlie Kirk's assassination.
On Friday, the ACLU-SC said it filed a complaint on the former assistant professor’s behalf in U.S. District Court. The lawsuit claims Dr. Joshua Bregy was fired for engaging in protected speech.
The lawsuit seeks Bregy’s reinstatement, a correction of his personnel records, and monetary damages.
