NEW YORK (PIX11) -- New Metro-North schedules are going into effect beginning Oct. 5.

The changes include faster service on the Hudson Line and extra seasonal weekend service.

Hudson Line

Faster super-express trains

Super-express trains between Grand Central and Poughkeepsie are now operating, leading to faster trips between the stations.

The new schedule includes three super-express trips from Poughkeepsie to Grand Central and vice versa, with two or three stops per trip. Five of these trains will make it in under 90 minutes:

Extra seasonal weekend service

There will be five additional Leaf Peeper trains running between Grand Central, Beacon, and Poughkeepsie on weekends from Oct. 4 to Nov. 9. Check schedules or TrainTime for more details.
