PENNSYLVANIA (WTAJ) -- After recent incidents of Pennsylvania colleges and universities receiving active-shooter or bomb threat calls, a PA state representative is looking to address the false threats.
Representative Tim Briggs (D-Montgomery) refers to the recent occurrences of some colleges and universities that received threats, which caused not only panic for students and staff but also the strain on resources being pulled for false threats.
He is now proposing legislation that he hopes will be a deterrent to anyone looking to swat the commonwealth's schools.
The legislation would create a sentencing enhancement for terroristic threats against schools, colleges, and universities, as well as allow courts to order restitution to cover costs of any supplies, equipment, and lost wages of
