Dozens of Maricopa residents showed out for Phoenix-based Turning Point Action ’s inaugural coalition kickoff event called “Red, White and Boots” at the restaurant last night to excite organizers and volunteers ahead of local elections. In the wake of founder Charlie Kirk’s assassination last month , a flyer for the event read, “WE ARE CHARLIE!”

Caitlin Orcutt, TPA organizer for Pinal County, told the packed room the group’s goal is to “chase ballots and gather people.” She noted Republicans currently hold 53% of political seats across 11 battleground states and said the goal is to ensure stronger conservative representation in Arizona.
