BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Walmart recently announced it would be joining a growing list of companies planning to remove synthetic dyes and other food additives from its brands in the coming years.

The retail giant told the Associated Press that the switch would affect around 1,000 products under its private labels. Those brands include Marketside, bettergoods, Freshness Guaranteed and Great Value.

Products affected would be anything from salty snacks to baked goods, power drinks to salad dressings and frosting.

These are the synthetic dyes and ingredients Walmart plans to remove from its products by January 2027: • FD&C Blue 1 • FD&C Blue 2 • FD&C Green 3 • FD&C Red 3 • FD&C Red 4 • FD&C Red 40 • FD&C Yellow 5 • FD&C Yellow 6 • FD&C Citrus Red • FD&C Orange B
