A 20-year-old man has been charged after driving 101 km/h over the speed limit in Kitchener, police say.
Waterloo Regional Police reported Friday morning on social media that officers stopped the Kitchener man on Huron Road, near Trussler Road, after he was clocked at 171 km/h in a 70 km/h zone.
“Speeding at this level is not just illegal, it’s extremely dangerous,” police said.
The accused is charged with stunt driving, careless driving, and speeding.
The stunt driving charge brings an automatic 30-day licence suspension and a 14-day vehicle impound. The fine for stunt driving ranges between $2,000 and $10,000.
