PLEASANT GROVE, Utah (ABC4) — A 6-year-old child is in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle Friday evening.

According to the Pleasant Grove Police Department, officers were dispatched to a call of an accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian near 1580 west and 3300 north in Pleasant Grove shortly before 5 p.m. on Friday evening.

When they arrived, they found that an SUV had struck a child, identified only as a 6-year-old. Officers performed life saving measures on the child on the scene of the accident.

The 6-year-old was transported by ambulance to the hospital, where they were then life-flighted to Primary Children's Hospital. According to Lieutenant Derek Shumway with the Pleasant Grove Police Department, the child is still in critical condition at the hospital.
