Nearly 4 million pounds of chicken corn dogs are being recalled after customers found wood embedded in the batter.
Sixteen products from Foster Poultry Farms, totaling 3.8 million pounds of food, were recalled Saturday, Oct. 4, by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service. The department issued the recall after its inspection service received multiple complaints of wood in the batter, including reports of five injuries.
The recalled items include several varieties of chicken corn dogs, including gluten-free and jumbo recipes. Both boxes sold in retail stores and sent to institutions, such as the Department of Defense and USDA Commodity Food locations, were impacted, the USDA said in its recall notice.
