BROADVIEW, Ill. (WTVO) — Border Patrol agents shot an armed woman Saturday after a group of motorists allegedly attacked the agents with their vehicles near a federal facility in Broadview, a western suburb of Chicago, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
The agents were conducting a routine patrol near the intersection of 39th Place and South Kedzie Avenue when they were boxed in by 10 vehicles and rammed, DHS said in a statement. The agents exited their vehicle, and one suspect attempted to run them over, prompting the agents to fire defensively, the agency said.
