Special teams were a positive for the Spartans through the first four games but sunk them at Memorial Stadium. Errors showed up early and often for Michigan State (3-2, 0-2) in a 38-27 loss at Nebraska (4-1, 0-2) on Saturday for back-to-back defeats to open Big Ten play. The Spartans also fumbled a kickoff return and gave up 109 yards in five punt returns with an 82-yard touchdown return wiped out by a block in the back.
