1NEW YORK, NY – A 69-year-old man was killed Saturday afternoon after being stabbed inside a building on Eldridge Street on the Lower East Side, police said. Officers from the 5th Precinct responded around 3:50 p.m. to a 911 call reporting an assault at 7 Eldridge Street, where they found the victim suffering from a stab wound to the back.

Emergency medical personnel rushed the man to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue , where he was later pronounced dead . Police have not released his identity pending notification of family members.

No arrests have been made, and detectives continue to investigate the motive and circumstances surrounding the attack.
