SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — A man was seriously hurt after being stabbed in an Old Town Scottsdale alley early Sunday morning.

At about 12:15 a.m., first responders were called to Stetson Drive , near Scottsdale and Camelback roads, for a report of a person stabbed during a fight.

A fight broke out in an alleyway before a man was stabbed, according to the Scottsdale Police Department. He was treated on the scene before he was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

The suspect allegedly attempted to leave the area, but was detained by security until police arrived. He was also transported to the hospital for his injuries sustained during the fight.

Detectives continue investigating this incident and say there is no threat to the surrounding community.
