CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A huge second half propelled the Carolina Panthers to a comeback win over the Miami Dolphins.

The Dolphins (1-4) jumped ahead 17-0 in the second quarter after two turnovers by Panthers quarterback Bryce Young, but Carolina (2-3) persevered and gained the lead in the fourth quarter, eventually winning 27-24.

The win was made possible by a terrific game from running back Rico Dowdle, who finished with 206 yards on the ground, the second-most in franchise history. Dowdle got the start for an injured Chuba Hubbard.

Young had 198 yards passing and two touchdown passes in the win.

Carolina's winning score came on a 4-yard Young pass to tight end Mithcell Evans in the final two minutes. It was Evans' only catch of the game.
