LOS ANGELES — Greensboro native and Los Angeles Chargers receiver Keenan Allen caught his 1,000th career pass on Sunday against the Commanders, becoming the fastest player in NFL history to hit the mark.

Allen's 1,000th catch came in his 159th career NFL game, breaking the previous record held by Indianapolis Colts great Marvin Harrison (167 career games).

The 2025 season has seen a nice bounce-back performance from Allen, who entered Sunday's game with 24 catches for 231 yards and three touchdowns in his team's first four games. As a member of the Bears in 2024, Allen caught 70 passes for 744 yards and seven touchdowns in 15 games.

A native of Greensboro, Allen played high school football at Northern Guilford before going on to excel at the college level with the University of Californ
