ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Two out of 18 dogs rescued from severe neglect conditions have died, according to the Ontario County Humane Society.
The Humane Society says they received a complaint about several dogs looking malnourished and unsanitary at a home on Avenue B. An investigation began at the address on October 2, and they found a camper trailer in the driveway.
Investigators said they found eight dogs inside the camper, which was filled with dog feces and little food or water. The investigators had to use specialized equipment due to the ammonia odor inside.
After searching the main home, investigators said dog feces were all over both floors of the house, and 10 dogs were found, again with little food and water. Eight dead animals were allegedly found in a freezer chest in the k
