A judge relied on police interviews and body-camera footage to hand down a middling sentence Monday for a man who pleaded guilty to manslaughter for a fatal shooting last year.

Elijah Garza, 24, of the 2200 block of Dorr Street, received a 10-year term from Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Ian English for the Oct. 27 shooting of Zayn Disher, 24, at a house in the 2500 block of Airport Highway. He could serve more if he misbehaves in prison or less if he successfully seeks early judicial release.
