ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - In honor of Día de los Muertos and Hispanic Heritage Month, the Saint Louis Zoo is inviting community members to submit photos of pets and beloved animals to be featured in a special Beloved Animals Ofrenda.

The Zoo’s Beloved Animals Ofrenda will celebrate the lives of Zoo animals throughout history, as well as beloved pets from the St. Louis community.

An ofrenda is an altar that is displayed during the traditional Mexican celebration of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) to honor loved ones who have passed away.

The Beloved Animals Ofrenda will be displayed during a Día de los Muertos celebration on Oct. 30, from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
