EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — Evansville has filled the new position of Director for Evansville Animal Care and Control.

Mayor Stephanie Terry announced that Evansville City Councilwoman Missy Mosby will take over the position on October 27th.

In order to take the role, Mosby has announced her resignation representing the city's 2nd Ward in the Evansville City Council. She has been on the council for 18 years.

The role will help oversee Animal Control and help improve animal welfare, transparency and improve services for residents and pets.

Mosby has served as an liaison to both Animal Control and Evansville Police over the years, as well as worked with EPD to develop one of the first animal abuse registries in Indiana.

The department was under the umbrella of the Department of Transport
