SALEM, Ore. (KPTV) - A kitten was resuscitated by firefighters who responded to an apartment fire in Salem on Sunday evening.
Just after 10 p.m., crews with the Salem Fire Department responded to a fire in the northwest area. An exact address was not provided by officials. Officials say there were reports of people trapped and some jumping from balconies.
Firefighters arrived to the apartment complex and found heavy fire in a stairwell to the second floor, with flames spreading into the attic. The fire was quickly brought under control.
All residents were able to escape safely, and no injuries were reported.
Four apartment units were affected by the fire. Six adults and seven children have been displaced and will be helped by the Red Cross.
