Goaltender Colten Ellis, who was set to be the No. 3 goalie in the Blues organization this season, was claimed off waivers by Buffalo on Monday afternoon.
Ellis was the team MVP at AHL affiliate Springfield last season, and was going to be the Thunderbirds' starting goaltender if the Blues would have been able to send him to the AHL. Instead, Ellis will land in the NHL with Buffalo.
