Beau Bayh is running.

Bayh, 29, announced his candidacy for Indiana secretary of state Oct. 6 . Assuming he wins the nomination at the Indiana Democratic Party convention next year, he has 13 months to campaign against incumbent Diego Morales (or whoever else Republicans might replace him with at their own convention).

Bayh is the son of Evan Bayh, a former U.S. senator and governor, and Susan Bayh, an attorney and revered first lady, who died in 2021 . His grandfather, former U.S. Sen. Birch Bayh, is the only person besides James Madison to have authored two constitutional amendments.
