CLEVELAND (WJW) - A jury has been seated and opening arguments are expected to begin Monday afternoon in the trial of Bionca Ellis.

Ellis is accused of stabbing 3-year-old Julian Wood and his mother in a Giant Eagle parking lot in North Olmsted in an unprovoked attack last June. The mother survived, but Julian died from his injuries.

The judge initially ruled Ellis incompetent, as the FOX 8 I-Team previously reported, but after months of treatment at a mental health facility, it has been determined that the 34-year-old is now fit to stand trial.

She was indicted in Cuyahoga County on 10 total counts, including aggravated murder and felonious assault.

Ellis is pleading not guilty by reason of insanity.
