BANGOR, Maine — A Bangor man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after a crash Saturday morning involving a car and a bicycle on Burleigh Road.

Bangor police said the collision happened around 10:30 a.m. near the intersection of Burleigh and Bomarc roads. Investigators believe the bicyclist was trying to pass a vehicle that had stopped along the roadside when he was hit.

The driver of the car was not hurt and is cooperating with the investigation, according to police. No charges have been filed at this point.
