COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The University of South Carolina and the University of Miami have canceled their upcoming home-and-home football game series.

The Hurricanes were scheduled to come to Columbia in 2026, and the Gamecocks were supposed to head to Miami in 2027.

The cancellation comes as both the SEC and ACC voted to move to a nine-conference game schedule starting in 2025, leaving room for only three non-conference opponents.

The Gamecocks are already scheduled to play Tolson and Clemson, and Miami is poised to play Florida A&M, Central Michigan and Notre Dame for the 2026 season.

South Carolina is still seeking a third non-conference opponent for next season.
