WYOMING COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Two men were arrested after a traffic stop in Brier Creek led to the recovery of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cash, according to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies said that on Saturday, October 4, 2025, around 11:50 p.m., Corporal Matthew Perry observed a white SUV driving suspiciously at a slow rate of speed.
When he attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver began trying to evade law enforcement by turning off the lights and driving without illumination.
After the vehicle was stopped, the driver was identified as Daniel Powell.
Deputies said a hypodermic needle was found on the front floorboard, leading to a search that uncovered two Suboxone strips in Powell’s wallet. Powell did not have a valid prescription for the medication.
